Training with Jodi

Last Thursday I travelled to Denham Waterski Club to train with Jodi Fisher. I had a great two sets working on slalom (and diving) for nationals and Europeans!  I’m super exited to be flying out to France in a few weeks for the European Championships with the rest of the British Team to have a great competition just before school starts again!

Thank you to all the people who have put competitions on this year that have allowed me to be selected for the team and to my coaches John Battleday and Jodi Fisher for the ongoing support.

Squad Training

I had an amazing time at this years Under 14 and under 17 squad training days at DAMS Watersports learning lots of new things on and off the water! Thank you to Friends of Tournament and the 200 Club for making these days possible and to Damien Acker for some amazing coaching.

A special thanks to Tom Williams and Mac Nutrition for two great talks on injury prevention and health as well as Ali for making cake I could eat!

Oxford Competition

A few weeks ago I competed at a competition in Oxford. I had a great time and got some really good scores too getting a PB in every event! In slalom I finally ran 14 meters which feels crazy to say after getting 5 buoys twice and 5.5 buoys once! In trick I got a PB of 2750 points and in jump I improved my best by over a meter going 17.5m! I was super happy with this and it means that if I make the British Team I will have qualified to jump at Europeans!

Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event to make it so enjoyable and fun and to all the judges and officials who worked so hard, as well as my coaches John Battleday and Jodi Fisher for the ongoing support.

I’m super exited for this weekend to compete at the JB Pro-Am at my home lake with all my friends and be able to watch all the best skiers in the world compete too!

Comps

The First Comp of the Year!

Last weekend I was up in Lincoln of the first competition of the year at PWTC. It was a great comp and I got some good scores, but I’m hoping to improve them at the next competitions. The first round of tricks was okay, I got a perfect hand run scoring everything but did all the wrong tricks for my toe run so did not score highly in that, in the other two trick rounds my hand run was not as good but my toe run scored higher. I was hoping to score more but I stood up all my runs which was what I mainly wanted to do at this competition.

The next day we slalomed and I was very pleased with my first round score of 5@14m 55kph, although a bit annoyed! The next round didn’t go so well as I realised that I had left my impact vest down at the main dock just before I went out. Thanks to Myles who lent me his impact vest so I could ski! In the last round I got into 14m again getting 2 buoys. It wasn’t quite what I as hoping for but I was still happy with my performance.

After slalom had finished we all went on the new aqua park opening in May. Thank you to Lincoln Aqua Park for letting us all go on for free, it was the perfect end to a great weekend!

The GB Squad

I’m so exited and proud to have made the British Squad again  in my first year in the Under 17 Girls category! I’ve been working really hard over the winter and this is a great start to the season. I’m so exited for my first competition next weekend and to post some scores at 55 kph!

Well done to everyone else who made the squad, especially Dani Halford, Lilli Deste and Stella Gamski for making the squad for the first time.
